Ponta Preta….. New Years
Well, the new years entered and 2008 has sealed its fate… I could go on and on abouty what a great year blah blah blah and how psyched we are for 2009 , blah blah blah. which is true. However, this year on the 31st of Deecember a solid 6-8 foot swell cranked right through the 1st of Jan, So that whole time of “end of the year reflection” literally got washed away by by perfect waves… I had previously had a couple smaller sessions under my belt this season, but that was the first real Ponta Preta this year. The morning sessions were the best… I had the 31st all alone for 2 hours in the morning. More waves than I knew what to do with and then on the 1st had it with 3 other windsurfers, Jean-Sebastian, Tulip ( the planet station guy), and Sidney, one of the local kids who was getting his first ever Ponta Preta session under the belt. That morning sesion was absoutely perfect and the afternoon, all though a little less perfect was windier and had tons of waves… Ponta Preta , it really is the best wavesailing spot in the world!

Josh that sounds like the good old days ! I can definetly imagine what it was like, hope to have some of those type of sessions again.

Kai, I was definitely thinking about you out there….. the direction was so wide open and peeling down the point , you would’ve been in hog heaven
As the lucky guy who could share that session with Josh I thought a long time about what to comment here but there are simply no words that could describe the feelings you have when shredding the lip of a wave at Punta Preta.

Remy, Loic , Thanks for sending us the good vibes from France despite the cold weather. We are definitely enjoying a very blessed winter and looking forward to more swell coming soon. In the meantime, The new Magnums will be shpwing up soon and we hope to get a video on that in about a week.
